Charlie shared his first birthday party with his friends Will and Connor Hiliard and Campbell Thompson. It was a great way to celebrate the four little lives that have blessed us all this year. We were also lucky to have Nanny and Papa there for the special day. Charlie was not so excited about the party and wanted mommy to hold him the ENTIRE time, but did take a break for some cake. Many people have asked about his one year old accomplishments, so here is a run down: No, he is not walking yet. He has taken a few steps on his own, but generally prefers to crawl and will not even try to walk without someone or something to hold onto. He loves to play with balls, trucks, and trains. With the latter two, he will make "vroom" sounds as he pushes them around. He likes to use bats and golf clubs to hit balls around the floor. (No doubt whose "Y" chromosome he has!) He says "Doggie" "Ball" "All Done" "Up" "Mama" "Daddy" and "Dance!" These words are mostly recognizable to Justin and myself, but we have unbiased witnesses who have confirmed that's what he's trying to say. He also has learned the sign for "More" and "All done" which means a lot less screaming. If anyone can figure out how to get him to sleep past 6 am we are open for suggestions!
