We have been on a blog break...mostly because we have been on a long vacation. We spent almost a week in Burke and then a week in Cleveland. It was awesome!! I got to sleep in, have other people cook for me, and read lots of useless fiction.
The biggest event that happened on our trip was Charlie's second birthday. He was not very excited about turning two, but VERY excited about his Elmo birthday cake. (Thanks to a talented Rebecca from New Covenant.) He is still eating his "Elmo cake" and when he's done he asks for, "More Elmo, please!!!"
Things about Charlie that make us smile:
1. He is a cuddler! He will come up to you spontaneously and say, "Daddy, hug please!" He has been known to hug grandparents for 15 minutes straight.
2. He loves his sister, "Dottie" and wants to do everything she does.
3. He likes to wear a single glove, Michael Jackson style. If a glove isn't handy, he will use a sock instead.
4. He loves to play the guitar. Anything in a guitar shape, i.e. square with a handle, gets strummed with songs hummed.
5. He is crazy about cars, trains, and balls. He can throw fast, straight, and hard.
Happy Birthday, Charlie!! Thank you for two years of laughter and smiles. You attack life with so much energy, excitement, and love. You amaze us every day.
